cambodia

\on the beaches in Cambodia, people sell things on their heads so that you never have to leave your sun chair. everything from fruit to massage was offered to us.
we stayed in shinok vill for a few days on the beaches, they were beautiful
A bar called blame canada was where we set up camp. It was owned by a guy from edmonton.

one of cambodias anorexic cows these are sll to common in cambodia

at nights the beaches would fill up with little tables and bucket chairs. it was only 3 dollars for an amazing bbq baraccuda steak.

Maybe it dosent look all that good but it tasted amazing.

This was one of the little gems of cambodia. it was a merry go round in a very ghetto part of the city. suprisingly fast.

crossing the boarder to Cambodia

The Island of Phu Quoq is an island off of the coast of vietnam and cambodia. It is on the border of the two countries but Vietnam owns it. A popular destination for Vietnamese people to go on vacation. it is quite expensive there so we only spent a few days on the island.

The sun sets there are amazing. This is at a harbor in town as the sun went down.
there are some really cool rock formations that you can climb on to and watch the sunset.
 always a beautiful view!!
At night for dinner, the markets are alive with people yelling at you to come to there restaurant. they put all the fresh fish caught that day on a table of ice. All you have to do is point to what you want and they toss it on a grill for you.
Our first day in Phu Quoc we rented a motorbike and drove down the coast. along our way we made a little friend, he was quite handsy, so we gave him a carrot to occupy him.
He loved jess!! he was climbing all over her and trying to stick his hands down her shirt. Naughty monkey!
The beaches were beautiful and the water was like bath water.
We payed a dollar to hike to a waterfall... it was dried up, but still a cool hike.
a beautiful butterfly landed on my hand.
for some reason they eat dog genitalia, they feel it will make them stronger.
We went to the coconut prison, it was used in the vietnam war by the south vietnam government to hold prisoners. they had some very cruel torture methods. this was boiling some one alive.
Jess is a much more intimidating guard for the prison... she is taller at least.
Yes thats a Dog... Dinner Anyone?
 More beautiful sunsets.
1.1 pounds of fresh BBQued squid, a bit to much for usbut still sooo yummy.
After Phu Quoc we went to a town called Hon Chong were we met up with our good friends from Australia, Rhys and She- Rhys. dont be fooled by the picture that water was fairly gross.
Jess wouldn't go in the water, i hardly blame her.
Vietnamese Slurpee shaved from sketchy ice.
But we were more then happy to risk it for a delicious treat.
We shared a room and had a slumber party all night with the screaming pandas.
Children spend there time in much more creative ways when they don't have video games, or some times even electricity. It was really funny to watch, and they were really good.
A temple in a cave, soo cool.
The best roller coaster we have ever been on. it took about 5 minutes to go straight up this mountain and about one minute to go down... SOOO FAST AND BUMPY. We could actually control our own brakes. it was so fun we wanted to do it again.
An old lady banging the gong at a Buddhist temple.
Jess being a turtle at a Buddhist Temple...
Another creative way for kids to have fun, these cages are typically used to hold the roosters before a cock fight.
We Taught Rhys and Cheryse how to play rook and they became Great rook players. We gave them our rook cards to take as a momentum of our time together. Thanks cindy ady for all the hours of fun.

After we spent a few days in Ha Tien, we said good bye to our friends and headed of to cambodia.

our first meal in Cambodia was a delicious chunk of sting ray. tasted like a mix between chicken and fish.

A beautiful cave that we hiked to. a 17 year old high school student was our tour guide. he was really informative.
when you get to the other side of the cave there is a big hole in the mountain that opens up. you are completely surrounded by cliffs.
yummy crab dinner.
sunsets in Cambodia are just as nice as Vietnam. the view from our 7 dollar hotel.

Jessicas favorite feature of the hotel. a good place to eat her oreo's.

i liked it for other reasons.
